Subcompact-sized pistol, sporting pronounced finger grooves w/ polymerized handle. Dot patterned on the side face of the handles, horizontally groove textured across the fingergrooves. Magazine buttplate has integrated curve at fore-end to prevent the ring finger from slipping. The blowback spring isn't as stiff as the P114's and the pistol cocks easily. To chamber the first round with a full magazine, one needs to rack the slide hard, not slowly, otherwise improper chambering occurs on some models, though current iterations of this pistol sees this error being fixed and a hefty slide pull is no longer necessary.

The pistol has a safety mechanism which the P114 does not feature, which is a swivel type that can be actuated w/ your thumb whilst brandishing the gun. The field strip function is integrated into this safety switch, thus to strip the slide, one needs only toggle that mechanism to its 7 o' clock position, then the slide will come off as one racks it, and one would be able to pull it off the runner and guide the slide off the barrel. The blowback rod and spring as well as the aluminium block that pushes against the mode lever, comes out. The 

To remove the magazine, one has to depress the serrated tab behind the magazine buttplate, then the magazine can be drawn free. At the same time, this will reset the slide as this pistol doesn't have any slide catch. Just be duly aware of this prior to purchasing this pistol - alot of women buy the 'small' pistols because it is easier to carry, but end up finding themselves hassling w/ the tab at the base, particularly to withdraw the magazine. Not only that, but if you hold the pistol inappropriately while doing this, you'll end up dropping the pistol or twist your hands awkwardly in the attempt.

Hammer fired w/ high beaver tail. The hamer on this pistol is somewhat pronounced / has a pronounced movement arc and alot of people who pocket-carries this pistol w/ one up, has complained about the hammer snagging and consequently discharging negligently down their leg.
